Random number generator for any range

Set a lowest and highest number, choose how many you want, and get a fresh set of whole numbers. You can ask for no repeats when each number should appear only once.

How the numbers are drawn

You give a range, for example 1 to 50, and the tool picks whole numbers inside it, including both ends. Each value has the same chance, and the draws come from your browser's secure random generator, so there is no pattern to predict.

You can request up to 100 numbers at once. With repeats allowed, each draw is separate, so the same number can come up again, just as a die can land on six twice.

Allowing or avoiding repeats

Switch on the no-repeat option when every number should appear once, like picking six different seats for a class seating plan or numbering a list at random. In that mode you cannot ask for more numbers than the range holds. For example, 1 to 10 gives at most 10 numbers.

Leave repeats on for situations that are more like rolling a die many times, such as sampling or a game where the same value can appear twice.

Everyday uses

  • Picking a page, a chapter or a track at random.
  • Choosing a number for a guessing game with the kids.
  • Putting the order of presenters or speakers in random order.
  • Selecting a student number to call on in class.
  • Picking an item from a numbered list.

What not to use it for

The generator is for games and ordinary choices. It is not designed for lottery tickets, and no tool can improve your odds of winning one, since every draw is independent. Lottery numbers should not be chosen here. It is also not for passwords, security codes or anything that needs special security handling.

Questions people ask

Are the end numbers included?

Yes. If you set 1 to 6, both 1 and 6 can be drawn.

How many numbers can I get at once?

Up to 100 per click.

Can negative numbers or zero be used?

Yes. Any whole numbers work as the low and high ends of the range.

Is the result random or just random-looking?

It uses your browser's secure random generator, which is designed to be unpredictable.
