Goat, Sheep or Ram?
You will see this animal called Goat, Sheep or Ram in English. The Chinese character 羊 covers all three, and different regions and families have their own preference. HiHaVy uses Goat. All three names refer to the same eighth position in the cycle.
The next Goat year is 2027, beginning on Lunar New Year, February 6, 2027.
Personality
- Gentle, compassionate and a good listener.
- Creative: art, music, design or a flair for cooking and gardening.
- Peace-loving and happy to compromise.
- Sensitive to atmosphere: they notice mood changes quickly.
Growth edges
A Goat can avoid decisions or wait for others to take the lead. Practicing small choices (picking the restaurant, naming the plan) builds confidence. They may also worry about security, so a simple budget or routine helps ease the background hum.
Asking for what they need directly is the big lesson; the people who love a Goat usually want to help.
Love and friendship
Goats are tender, devoted partners who love creating a cozy home. Traditional lore pairs Goat with Rabbit and Pig (the harmony triangle), and with Horse. Ox is traditionally a clash, which is often just a difference in pace.
Work
The arts, design, teaching, healthcare, hospitality and nonprofit work suit the Goat, especially in a kind, collaborative team. A Goat may not push for the spotlight, so a manager who asks for their ideas directly gets some of the most original suggestions in the room. Flexible hours and a pleasant workspace matter more to a Goat than they might admit.
Check your year
